Women's Hair Loss Restore Your Confidence
Hair loss affects millions of women worldwide, yet it's rarely discussed openly. Whether you're experiencing thinning at the crown, a widening part, or receding hairline, our specialized women's hair restoration treatments offer discreet, natural-looking solutions with no-shave options that let you maintain your hair length throughout recovery.
Common Causes
Why women experience hair loss and thinning
Female Pattern Hair Loss
Also called androgenetic alopecia, this is the most common cause. Hair thins gradually across the crown and top of the head while the hairline usually remains intact.
Hormonal Changes
Pregnancy, menopause, thyroid issues, and PCOS can all trigger hair loss. Hormonal fluctuations affect the hair growth cycle, leading to thinning or shedding.
Stress & Telogen Effluvium
Physical or emotional stress can push hair follicles into a resting phase, causing significant shedding 2-3 months later. This is often temporary but can be distressing.
Traction Alopecia
Tight hairstyles (ponytails, braids, extensions) that pull on hair can damage follicles over time. Early stages are reversible, but prolonged tension can cause permanent loss.
Nutritional Deficiencies
Low iron, vitamin D, B12, or protein can impact hair health. Crash diets and eating disorders frequently lead to noticeable hair thinning and loss.
Medical Conditions
Alopecia areata (autoimmune), scalp conditions, and certain medications (chemotherapy, blood thinners) can cause temporary or permanent hair loss.
Treatment Options
Specialized hair restoration techniques for women
PRP Therapy
Platelet-rich plasma injections stimulate hair follicles to promote natural growth. Often combined with transplants for enhanced results.
Mesotherapy
Micro-injections of vitamins, minerals, and growth factors directly into the scalp nourish follicles and improve hair density.
Hairline Lowering
For women with naturally high hairlines or recession, hair transplants can create a lower, more feminine hairline frame.

Absolutely! About 30% of hair transplant patients worldwide are women. The procedure and techniques are the same, but we tailor the approach to female-specific patterns of hair loss. Women often have different goals (density vs coverage) and aesthetic requirements (maintaining hair length) that our surgeons address with specialized techniques like DHI no-shave transplants.
No! This is one of the biggest concerns for women, and we have excellent solutions. With DHI technique, only a small area of donor hair needs to be trimmed (which can be hidden under your existing hair). The recipient area remains unshaved. Most women can maintain their current hair length throughout the entire process and recovery.
Female pattern hair loss typically causes diffuse thinning across the crown and top of the head, while men usually experience a receding hairline and bald spots. Women rarely go completely bald and usually retain their frontal hairline. This difference affects how we plan transplants - women often need density enhancement rather than coverage of bald areas.
Yes, we recommend it. Hormone imbalances (thyroid, estrogen, testosterone) can cause or worsen hair loss. Our clinics can perform blood panels, or you can get tested by your GP beforehand. Addressing hormonal issues first ensures better transplant results and prevents continued loss in non-transplanted areas.
This varies significantly based on the extent of thinning. Most women need 1,500-3,000 grafts for crown and part line density. Hairline lowering may need 800-1,500 grafts. Temple restoration needs 300-600 grafts per side. During your free assessment, we'll analyze your photos and recommend the exact number for your goals.
With no-shave DHI, most women can return to social activities within 7-10 days. Small crusts in the recipient area are hidden by your existing hair. The donor area (back of head) may have tiny dots that are covered by surrounding hair. Most patients find they can keep the procedure private - even close friends and family don't notice during recovery.
